Gentle, guilt-free dentistry, cosmetic crowns and bridges, tooth whitening, root canal therapy, routine cleanings in a fun and
friendly environment.
Regular Check Ups
Gone are the days when your teeth and gums were considered to have no relationship to
the rest of your body.  Current research indicates a connection between the health of your
gums and diabetes, low birth weight babies, heart disease and perhaps even Alzheimer's
disease.  What you need to know is......BLEEDING GUMS ARE NOT NORMAL!  An estimated
80 to 90% of adults have some areas of bleeding in their mouths.  For most people we
suggest an examination and cleaning every six months.  If we find areas of gum disease or
bleeding, we may suggest a more frequent interval.  Our hygienist will work with you to
help build your home care skills.  Our goal is for you to have gums that do not bleed,
however, unless you come in every day, we can't guarantee that will happen.  How healthy
your gums are is totally dependant upon your skill level, interest, and the time spent on
caring for your gums.

We usually suggest four bite wing x-rays to be taken every year and any additional x-rays
on an as needed basis.  Every five years, we take a complete series of x-rays along with a
panoramic film of your jaws.  If you have excellent teeth with very little dental work or if
you have had extensive radiation therapy, we can extend that interval.

Certain conditions contribute to the breakdown of your teeth.  If you clench or grind your
teeth, have numerous fillings in your teeth, and if you habitually chew ice or other hard
foods, you will be prone to cracking and breaking your teeth along with causing excessive
wear.  We can protect your teeth with night guards once they have been properly restored.

At your regular exams, we will monitor these conditions and make appropriate suggestions
for you.  Once again, however, your follow through is extremely important.

I will not pressure you into treatment, nor will I suggest things that are inappropriate
treatment.  I will do my best to inform you of the consequences of both doing and not
doing treatment.  When you have the information you need, you can inform me of the
treatment you desire.  If money concerns are preventing you from getting the treatment
you want, please let us know, as often we can work within your budget, if you have
informed us of your budget requirements.
